弘文高中以「弘揚實學,文以載道」為宗旨,迄今已在潭子鄉耕耘二十個寒暑。

 

潭子區因經濟發展不及鄰近的都會區快速,又加上南北交通十分便捷,所以不僅就業人口外流嚴重,鄰近國中優秀畢業生也多依傳統學校排名順序選擇市區高中就讀。 弘文雖然不是歷史悠久的學校,但是在所有師生持續不斷的努力下,不管是升學表現、校際競賽或學生生活常規等各方面均有傑出的表現,點點滴滴逐漸樹立起良好的口碑。近年在教育部高中職社區化政策及本校招生策略的推動下,鄰近國中就讀本校比率有逐年增加的趨勢,而就近入學學生的各項表現也深獲肯定。

About Hong Wen

Hong Wen has been a highly regarded private high school in Taichung. It is located in Tanzi District, with beautiful farmland views surrounding its campus and solid curriculum to provide holistic education. As a private high school, it has a well-organized school board, with highly respected Lai Tu as President and Mr. Huang Hsi-Ku as Principal. Currently, there are about 3,500 students and a staff of 186 at Hong Wen High school.

 

Hong Wen has established a good study style under the efforts made by all the students and teachers. It is committed to forming a positive and optimistic culture on the campus, respecting each student's individual uniqueness and developing students' multiple intelligence and abilities by helping its students cultivate long term knowledge, academic skills, spirits of cooperation, and life-long learning which is necessary and helpful for future.

School Emblem

The school emblem is designed in the shape of a lotus, expressive of being fresh, extraordinary, elegant, and outstanding. Two persons bowing to each other symbolize the relationships between teachers and students, between teachers and teachers, and between students and students. They base education on mutual love, mutual respect, and mutual help.

History

Founded in 1992, Hong Wen designates itself as an academic high school and has sent thousands of its students to their ideal high schools and colleges.

School Size

Currently there are now 62 classes, including 27 junior high classes and 35 senior high classes. The total number of students is around 2800.

Holistic Education and Multi-learning

To provide a multi-learning environment for students with a keen interest in mathematics, natural science, social science, fine arts, or language, the school has set up several special classrooms and programs, such as a school library, two chemistry laboratories, two physics laboratories, two biology laboratories, and ESL programs.

Abundant and Colorful Extracurricular Activities

The school offers over 60 clubs for students to choose from and participate in. These clubs are characterized by their natures in interests, hobbies, academy, recreation, athletics, and social service. At these clubs, students develop their capabilities to learn, to work, to live, to lead, and to cultivate.

 

Club fairs, exhibitions, and performances are regularly held on the school's founding anniversary or at the flag-raising ceremony.

Campus Tour

Crossing an irrigation canal and entering the wide school gate, you will see the main entrance of the school building. On the wall are the golden Chinese characters meaning Promoting Real Learning and Recording the True, signifying the goal of this school--the pursuit of knowledge and truth. The school building includes the Administration Building on the east, the Hong Ted Building on the west, the Audio-Visual Building with its school store on the south and the Classroom Building for junior high school students on the north. In the middle is a playground covered with green grass and trees. Pass through a hallway, and you will reach another campus with the International Conference Center, two dormitory buildings, and a classroom building for senior high school students on it, surrounded by gardens and trees. The two student dormitories accommodate 288 male and female students. The library is located on the second floor of the Hong Ted Building with a collection of nearly twenty thousand volumes and magazines on different topics. In the library are bookroom, the reading room, and the service center with a copy machine and several computers. The laboratories of different purposes are also found in the Hong Ted building accompanied by language labs, computer rooms, and music classrooms. At the basement of the Hong Ted building is a school restaurant, providing school staff and students with delicious and nutritious breakfast, lunch, and dinner. To the southern side of the main building is the school playground, where school ceremonies and athletic meets are held, with a platform serving as the ceremony and reviewing stand.

For a healthy, friendly, positive, and excellent Hong Wen Senior High School, our hopes and aspirations are:

1. To create a healthy environment for the teachers and the students to live a healthy life.
